THERE IS NO-OFFSEASON

ISSUE #6

It’s officially here, Draft Day. Not the Kevin Costner movie, but actual, real life, NFL Draft Day! While the Browns don’t have the number one pick in this draft, they do have the first pick that is still up in the air on the morning of the draft. Cam Ward is basically off the board for the Titans, so the Browns need to decide if they take the best player available in Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter, or try to fill their biggest team need with quarterback Shedeur Sanders. It isn’t quite a choice between Bo Callahan and Vontae Mack, but the draft starts with what the Browns front office decides to do.

Rumors are swirling all over the place about the state of this first round. We’re just a few hours away from knowing the picks, and a few days away from rookie draft season.  The 2025 Rookie Draft Guide has been your spot for all of DLF’s pre-draft analysis, but it will keep updating with all of our post-draft analysis as well! Over the next couple of days, keep an eye out for updated DLF Expert Rookie Rankings and articles about all of the winners and losers of the NFL Draft. Player values will change drastically over the next couple of days, and DLF is the best place to stay up to date and well informed for your upcoming rookie drafts.

On the veteran side of the fantasy football world, the 49ers are in a very interesting spot this NFL off-season. Earlier this week, players reported for the voluntary off-season program. Brock Purdy showed up, George Kittle did not. Both of these players are reportedly working on contract extensions, and could pose some issues for fantasy managers if the negotiations extend into the summer months.

While you're watching tonight’s festivities from Green Bay, you won’t want to miss Rob WIllette's live pick-by-pick dynasty analysis of all seven rounds of the draft. Check out DLF’s homepage for the “Live Dynasty Analysis” article when it gets posted! Enjoy the draft, and best wishes for your veteran player values to avoid any major damage over the next several days!

Before the draft and after, DLF will be the number one source for rookie information and changing values post-draft. Rookie drafts are the absolute best part of dynasty leagues, and we’re here to make sure you’re the most prepared manager in your league.

Earlier, I mentioned that George Kittle is not attending the 49ers’ voluntary off-season program while he is negotiating a contract extension with the team. He’s scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2025 season, but the 49ers are going to try to keep him in the Bay Area after his impressive 2024 season. He was the number three scoring tight end and finished in the top five for the fourth straight season, sixth in the last seven seasons. Despite that track record, he’s only the number five tight end in our DLF Expert Rankings

It’s important to note that those rankings currently do not include any of the rookie tight end class. This rookie class is loaded with talent. Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland are both very likely to be first round picks. Meanwhile, Mason Taylor, Harold Fannin, and Elijah Arroyo all have the upside to be top 12 tight ends in their rookie seasons, depending on their landing spots. The tight end position is finally getting an influx of young talent, and that will inevitably push players like Kittle and Travis Kelce down the board.

George Kittle’s Dynasty ADP History through April.

Interestingly, Kittle’s ADP has been rising in recent months, even with the addition of the rookie tight ends into the startup player pool. He is still the TE5 in ADP, just behind Warren, who is the TE4 and going two picks ahead of Kittle. The next rookie TE is Colston Loveland, who is the TE7 going six picks after Kittle. I suspect that, when Warren and Loveland are both added to the Dynasty Expert Rankings, they will be ranked ahead of Kittle, pushing him down to TE7 in the rankings. Meanwhile, Taylor and Arroyo could be nipping at his heels.

Recent Dynasty Trades involving George Kittle.

At this point in his career, Kittle needs to be on a team that is planning to win in 2025. He’s an obvious win-now pickup in dynasty leagues that can be had for a second-round pick. If you’re looking to acquire him, let the hype surrounding the rookies pass and buy him at the “TE7” value. If you’re selling, now is the time to do it before he starts to fall down the rankings because of his age.

FINAL PRE-DRAFT 2025 SUPERFLEX ROOKIE DRAFT

Welcome to Monday Mocks, where Ryan typically brings you…you guessed it, a new mock draft every Monday during the off-season. Ryan is out on assignment this week, so I thought it would be a good time to bring you something that’s going to become really relevant, really soon – a Superflex Rookie Mock Draft.

With the NFL Draft now just a few days away, landing spots are going to become reality instead of speculation very soon. This mock draft is of the “one man” variety, meaning I’m making the selections as I would if I were in a league drafting today. Things will certainly change in the coming days, but this is where my mind is, at least pre-draft.

Let’s go!

ROUND ONE

1.01 = Ashton Jeanty, RB Boise State

I’m having a hard time believing anyone other than Jeanty is going to be the 1.01 in both traditional and Superflex formats. While Cam Ward is certainly winning the Titans over and looks to be the top overall selection, Jeanty looks like a locked and loaded pre-draft RB1 in the mold of Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott, Ricky Williams or another number of runners taken in the top ten. When you run for 2,600 yards and 29 touchdowns, teams are going to take notice and I fully expect him to go in the top ten of the NFL Draft and solidify this spot.

1.02 = Omarion Hampton, RB North Carolina

This pick gets a little tougher for me.  Part of me wants to go with Ward as quarterbacks carry so much weight. However, it really looks like Hampton is rising in draft circles and I’m assuming he goes to somewhere like Dallas, Las Vegas, or Denver to be a true three-down option. Ward is the best quarterback in the class, but the class is weak in general. After posting a whopping 30 touchdowns over the past two years and impressing scouts all off-season, Hampton is the choice for me. We’ll see if that changes on Thursday.

1.03 = Cam Ward, QB Miami

And this is the easiest pick of this mock. Ward is a little older for a prospect, but that experience is going to do wonders for him in the NFL. We’ve seen high-upside players with little experience fail miserably (think Anthony Richardson so far in his career) and more seasoned players find quicker success. In a world where nobody is patient, that’s a huge plus for Ward, who set the all-time record for touchdown passes in a collegiate career. The Titans seem sold on him being the top pick and have reportedly passed on serious trade offers from other teams – the NFL knows more than we do and if Tennessee is this sold on him, perhaps we should be as well.
