THERE IS NO OFF-SEASON

ISSUE #29

Cheers to those of you who survived week four of the NFL season unscathed by injury, especially at the wide receiver position. As you likely already know, Malik Nabers and Tyreek Hill have been lost for the 2025 season. The loss of Nabers (WR4 in the DLF Expert Ranks) hurts more than the loss of Hill (WR33), but both will be nearly impossible to replace. Tryeek was finally starting to flash before suffering the gruesome knee injury.

Cedric Tillman (WR70) has also been placed on IL, and Ricky Pearsall (WR44) left early again with a knee injury. If that wasn’t enough, do we need to start having a conversation about Ladd McConkey (WR14)? More on him later.

The Baltimore Ravens not only got beaten on the field and on the scoreboard, but also lost several key pieces for some time. Lamar Jackson's hamstring will be the most scrutinized ligament since injury reporting became a thing. Coach Harbaugh lost some firepower on the defensive side of the ball as well, with Marlon Humphrey and Roquan Smith likely missing extended time.

The Chargers have lost another offensive lineman just ten snaps into their game versus the New York Giants. Justin Herbert has to be wondering who he pissed off to be so unlucky. Surely this played a part in the loss to the then-winless New York Football Giants.

In non-injury-related news, those who read the tea leaves and took a chance on Woody Marks were rewarded earlier than anticipated. All he did was go off for 27.9 points in PPR formats. We knew it was coming; we just didn’t think it would be this soon. We suspect that Joe Mixon’s injury is going to take a little longer to heal all of a sudden.

Marks wasn’t the only rookie who had his coming-out party. Ashton Jeanty has finally arrived. It just took a little longer than expected. Is there any doubt that Puka is him? We don’t think so. Bijan kept on doing Bijan things, and so did James Cook. How about Travis Etienne? The RB that we all wrote off is having a year to remember. This is just one of several reminders of how fickle this beast is that we all know and love.

We mentioned in the intro that it might be time to discuss Ladd McConkey. Is he a must-start still? With three straight weeks scoring less than double-digit points in PPR formats, it sure is getting hard to trust him. His targets are being gobbled up by not only the ageless Keenan Allen, but the surprise ascending star that is Quinten Johnston.

In fact, Johnston leads the team in targets with 37. Allen follows closely with 35. Then we have Ladd with 27. That is just 11 more than rookie RB Omarion Hampton. Not good, as the kids say. McConkey only has one reception over 20 yards to boot. We certainly expected to have more than 33.4 PPR points from one of the top wideouts through four games.

We saw the first-ever dip in ADP for the UGA alum in September. Meanwhile, QJ is skyrocketing up the ADP charts. Is this a long-term trend? We don’t think so. Once Keenan Allen retires (finally), we should see more of the McConkey we became accustomed to in 2024. Johnston may be the deep threat, but Ladd will be the PPR machine that Keenan was in his prime. Be patient, young Jedi. Oh, and buy low.

If you haven’t played at Bleacher Nation Fantasy (BNF) yet, you’re missing out. Over the last two weeks, players have won over $370k!

The games are simple. Pick MORE or LESS on a player’s stat line and add a couple of other picks to increase the payout multiplier.

Kev White explores the Dynasty Marketplace after Week Four.

Ken Kelly reacts to the Tyreek Hill Injury for dynasty fantasy football leagues.

THREE WIDE RECEIVERS TO OVERPAY FOR RIGHT NOW

Dynasty fantasy football is about the long game. For me, it’s also about building certainty into my lineups in a game filled with nothing but uncertainty. Sometimes you’ve seen enough of a young player to go and get them when there’s an opportunity to do so, even if it means paying a premium. Some players possess the rare combination of high floor consistency and high ceiling week-winning performances that make them nearly untouchable.

Ever so often, tragedy strikes in the form of an injury or suspension, which may motivate their manager to make a move. This is when you strike. Although there may not be a significant discount, the fact that they are now actually attainable is a benefit in itself.

Here are three wideouts I’d overpay for right now, even if the market says I’m crazy.

Malik Nabers, WR NYG

Unfortunately, Nabers tore his ACL in week four. Fortunately, it was early enough in the season that we should see a full recovery in time for the 2026 NFL season. We already know how well Nabers has performed with bottom-tier quarterback play, but we could see him fulfill his ultimate potential if Jaxon Dart develops this season and becomes the answer at the position. Nabers could be set up for a Comeback Player of the Year kind of season in 2026.

Why overpay?

Timing: ACL rehabilitation for wideouts has improved dramatically; many return to pre-injury explosiveness within 9–12 months, in time for week one 2026 or shortly thereafter.

Proven talent and production: WR6 in PPR leagues as a rookie, producing 109 receptions, 1,204 yards, and seven touchdowns. Through three games this season, he was the WR9.

Trade Partner Targets

You’re hoping Nabers is on a team looking to contend this season, so you can send an aging vet that will be productive for them in their title hunt. I’d love to send someone like AJ Brown or Saquon Barkley, along with my 2026 first-round rookie pick, for Malik Nabers.

If Nabers is currently residing with a rebuilding team, it will be much more challenging to make a deal. You’ll likely need to pay two firsts with some sugar on top to get anything done.
