Last week, I started the newsletter with a proclamation that dynasty commissioners dodged a headache because Brendan Sorsby would be going back to college next season. Turns out, that proclamation was premature. After further court filings and lawsuits by the NCAA and the Big 12, Sorsby has decided to declare for the NFL Supplemental Draft. Now, dynasty commissioners are going to have to decide how they’re going to handle this unique situation. A fantasy-relevant player hasn’t been selected in the Supplemental Draft since 2012, so it’s likely that your league doesn’t have a built-in way to deal with players added to the player pool after the NFL Draft. Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy solution to this problem, so you’re going to have to get creative.

The easiest solution is to just run a normal waiver wire for him, the way you would normally run waivers in the off-season. If you use FAAB, that’s a fine solution, but in my dynasty leagues I don’t use FAAB in the off-season. What I’ve decided to do is try to mimic the NFL Supplemental Draft as closely as possible. I’ll allow the managers in my league a week to blind bid on Sorsby, using 2027 draft picks and/or 2026 FAAB. The manager that bids the most valuable package of picks and FAAB will get Sorsby. It’s complicated, but I think it’s the most fair way for a team to earn a player that would’ve been an early-round draft pick had he been available in the 2026 rookie draft.

The next question that comes up: just how valuable is Sorsby in dynasty leagues? He’s a talented quarterback that got into major off-the-field trouble when he bet on his own team back at Indiana. That’s a major red flag, and his recovery from gambling addiction will be something that NFL teams will need to consider prior to bidding 2027 draft picks on him. He has a big arm, and he racked up the stats over the past three seasons at Indiana and Cincinnati. Last season he threw for 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns, compared to only 5 interceptions. He also runs the ball well and has an eye for the first down marker when he scrambles. Without a typical pre-draft process (All-Star Games, Combine, Pro Days and Top 30 visits), it’ll be interesting to see just how valuable he is to an NFL team. 2027 picks have been incredibly valuable in both the NFL and dynasty fantasy football leagues. I’d like to see how much an NFL team spends on him and this landing spot before landing on a dynasty value, but right now I think I’d be willing to part with a 2027 second-round pick for him in a blind bidding situation in superflex leagues. In the NFL, George Pickens has finally reported to camp to participate in Cowboys minicamp. He stayed away from the team during the voluntary workouts, but the franchise-tagged wide receiver participated in the mandatory portion of the Cowboys off-season. Pickens is still hoping for a long-term deal, but his dynasty value may be at its highest if he plays on the franchise tag. If he does, he’ll need to prove he has it one more time to earn a big-time contract next season.

Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Coker both signed contract extensions in the past week. Mahomes is working back from an ACL injury, but he could reportedly participate in a “dress rehearsal” during the preseason. It’d be shocking to see Mahomes on the field for week one, but that’s the way it seems to be trending. Meanwhile, Coker is coming off a strong season, and seems to have the number two job locked up in Carolina for the upcoming season. This contract keeps him in Charlotte through the 2029 season.

June is flying by and before you know it, players will be reporting for training camps, and the Cardinals and Panthers will be facing off in the Hall of Fame Game. Jonathon Brooks has been incredibly unlucky in his professional career. After tearing his ACL at the end of his time at Texas, he entered the league on the IR. After the Panthers were incredibly slow bringing him onto the field for his NFL debut, he once again tore his same ACL, sidelining him for the entire 2025 season. The 2024 second-round pick has provided no value to his dynasty managers, but it appears there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. The Panthers lost Rico Dowdle this off-season, and didn’t do anything to replace him. Can this finally be the season that Brooks delivers for fantasy?

Jonathon Brooks’s Dynasty ADP history, per DLF.

There was hype for Brooks coming out of college. He was the first running back selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, and his ADP topped out at 44 in startup drafts. Last September, his ADP bottomed out at 229.5, but it’s jumped up over 100 spots since then. He’s now the 119th player off the board in June ADP, the RB37. The DLF Expert Rankings are much lower on Brooks than the public. He’s the 146th ranked player and the RB42.

Right now, Chuba Hubbard still needs to have the upper hand over Jonathon Brooks in the Carolina backfield. He has the pedigree and the Panthers have extended him with a decent contract. Despite that, reports continue to come out that Brooks will have a chance to be the lead back this season. He’s a risky buy right now, but if he is a starter this season, you won’t be able to get a better deal for a 22 year-old starting running back with second-round draft capital. In the DLF Trade Values, he’s valued at the same price as the 3.03 pick in 2026 one-quarterback drafts. That’s about the same spot that Dylan Sampson and Emmitt Johnson are being valued. Brooks is a great high risk, high reward target in dynasty fantasy football leagues right now.

Four WRs to Buy, Sell, or Hold

Welcome to the positional Buy, Sell, Hold series, where each week I’ll focus on one position, analyze four players, and discuss what we should do with them in dynasty. In this edition, wide receivers are back on the menu.

Puka Nacua, LAR – Hold

It was another stellar season for Nacua in 2025, and it was his best yet. Nacua set career highs across the board and led all wide receivers in yards per route run for the second straight season on his way to 23.4 PPR points per game. When it comes to Nacua, the question is never about his talent or projections; we know those are top-notch. What we need to figure out is how long we can count on Matthew Stafford to be around to support him, and what happens when he’s gone? Then, with that information, what do we do?

The Move – Everyone wants Nacua on their roster, that’s obvious. Almost universally, Nacua is valued as the WR3 in dynasty. The only real concerns you could have are that he’s made some bad decisions off the field, although they haven’t hurt him yet, and that we don’t know how long Stafford plays. Neither of those is that worrisome, though. The only way I’d sell Nacua is if I could get a first-round pick on top of Juston Jefferson or Malik Nabers. But I don’t want to pay that much to acquire him.

Zay Flowers, BAL – ???
