THERE IS NO OFF-SEASON

ISSUE #11

Tush Push, or no Tush Push, that was the debate that went down in Minneapolis last week at the NFL’s Spring Meetings. Things got heated, arguments were staged and presentations were made. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley managers were on the edge of their seats waiting to hear the outcome. In the end, the Brotherly Shove has survived another vote and will once again be legal for the 2025 season. If your dynasty team relies on those Jalen Hurts rushing touchdowns, then you have to be thrilled. Rarely does a potential rule change carry such significant fantasy relevance for one specific player, but that was the case last week. If the play was banned, it would’ve had a brutal impact on his value. Not to mention, the value of Saquon Barkley would’ve had to improve with the play banned. But, things remain the same for at least one more year. The play is legal, and Hurts should be in line for another season with double-digit rushing touchdowns.

With the meeting wrapped up, and off-season programs ramping up, the Aaron Rodgers question continues to linger over the league. While he hasn’t signed with a team, he continues to be a sought-after podcast guest. On one of those podcasts, he mentioned potentially playing against Chicago on a road-trip this season. The Steelers, the team most rumored to be in on Rodgers, will play the Bears on the road in week 12. He also replied with a quick “no” when asked if he would play for the Saints this season. It is starting to seem like a foregone conclusion that Rodgers will team up with DK Metcalf in Pittsburgh this season.

Approaching the month of June, this is traditionally the slow period for news in the NFL calendar. There are tidbits and soundbytes coming out of OTA programs, but there isn’t much actionable fantasy information coming out. Despite that, you need to pay attention to the headlines when your league-mates are off enjoying their summers. The easiest way to do that is to bookmark the Dynasty Fantasy Football Player News page at DLF. Ken Kelly meticulously digs through all of the fantasy football headlines and gives you the dynasty spin for each bit of news!

With this slow period, this is the perfect time to hold your rookie draft, or your dynasty startup drafts. Before you’re on the clock, you need to check the DLF Rookie Rankings. Earlier this month, I did an ADP analysis article on the biggest risers and fallers after the fallout of the NFL Draft. Isiah Pacheco did not make the list as one of the biggest risers, but he did make a significant jump, rising from 111.33 overall up to 90.33. That’s a logarithmic difference of 9.08%, one of the highest in the entire data set. So, let’s dive in and see if this rise in ADP is deserved.

Isiah Pacheco’s Dynasty ADP, through May 2025.

Pacheco’s value has been falling all off-season, potentially in anticipation of the Chiefs adding a new running back in free agency or the NFL Draft. At the end of the season, his ADP was 55, and it fell all the way down to 111 prior to the draft.

The running back room in Kansas City looks very similar to how it looked last season. The team brought back Kareem Hunt, who split carries with Pacheco last season. Behind them, the team signed Elijah Mitchell and used a seventh-round pick on Brashard Smith. That isn’t a major investment, but remember, the Chiefs have hit on a seventh-round running back recently, Isiah Pacheco himself.

With that lack of investment, Pacheco’s value has started to rebound, jumping back into the top 100, but still 35 spots lower than his ADP was in December. The buy-low window for him is closing, but it hasn’t slammed shut yet. He is the RB28 in May ADP, but he’s the RB 25 in the DLF Expert Rankings. He’s 78th overall in the rankings, 12 spots above ADP. He isn’t an exciting player to have on your team, but as a low-end RB2, he has more value than his ADP would suggest.

A HATER’S GUIDE TO THE 2025 ROOKIE WR CLASS

Welcome to part three of this year’s Hater Series. If you missed it, be sure to check out part one about this year’s quarterback class, and part two looking at the running backs. For the last several seasons I have written my Hater’s guide to the NFL draft. There are several of them, and if you think you’ll enjoy looking back at me trashing picks in years passed, you can find them on my DLF author page.

As a pessimist, this is my favorite thing I do every year. The pre-draft process is such a big part of the NFL and arguably even a bigger part of dynasty fantasy football, so when we finally watch the NFL draft and everyone can’t wait to sing the praises of their favorite rookies, all I can think if is all the reasons why they’ll fall flat on their faces. Let’s take a look at this far-too-deep receiver group.

1.08 Tetairoa McMillan, WR CAR

McMillan won the Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year Award in 2021 and then in 2024, he was named the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year. He seems to be the greatest Polynesian wide receiver of all time, so, he’s got that going for him.

1.19 Emeka Egbuka, WR TB

Until Mike Evans retires, Egbuka shall toil on your bench each and every week. The Buccaneers are playing for 2027.

1.23 Matthew Golden, WR GB

Golden is 5’11” and 191 pounds and he ran a 2025 combine-best 4.29 forty-yard dash. For that, he earned the Packers’ first-round selection. He is almost the exact same size as Jayden Reed in every measurable. Mecole Hardman ran a 4.33. Romeo Doubs is noticeably bigger at 6’2” and 201 pounds. Christian Watson is 6’4” and 208 pounds while running a 4.38. So what exactly is Golden supposed to bring to this offense that nobody else does?

Other than Ashton Jeanty, which rookie running back will have the best rookie season?
