THERE IS NO OFF-SEASON
ISSUE #30

The 1972 Dolphins are popping champagne this week as there are no more undefeated teams in the NFL! The Eagles fell to the Broncos, and the Patriots shocked the league, winning in Buffalo on Sunday Night Football. Parity seems to be the theme of this NFL season. It seems like the gap between the best teams in the league and the worst teams in the league is narrower than it’s been in a long time. Even the worst teams in the league, the Saints and the Panthers, had good showings in week five. Meanwhile, several pre-season Super Bowl Favorites fell, and every team in the league has at least one loss and at least one win (except for, of course, the 0-5 Jets).
That begs the question: Is the parity in the NFL translating to your fantasy football leagues? Every league is different, but with all of the injuries and up-and-down performances this year, it’s tough to imagine many teams are running away with the league, or dwelling in the fantasy basement. Let us know here at DLF if you have any undefeated teams left, and who your team MVP is so far!
The news this week kicks off with another devastating injury to a young player who was just starting to emerge on the scene. Omarion Hampton is heading to IR with an ankle injury. He joins backfield-mate Najee Harris on the sideline, leaving a massive hole at running back for the Chargers. Dynasty managers will recognize the two names they have on the roster right now, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal. LA could also bring in a veteran free agent, Gus Edwards would make the most sense with his history with OC Greg Roman. It’s so unfortunate, as Hampton was establishing himself as the top rookie running back in the league. Now that he’s hit IR, and Jeanty and Henderson continue to struggle, it appears that Quinshon Judkins is shockingly the RB winner of this year’s NFL Draft, so far.
Looking at the rest of the rookie class, Emeka Egbuka and Tyler Warren have been incredible. There was some concern that the return of Chris Godwin would spell the end of Egbuka’s hot start, but he’s still been going off, averaging a touchdown a game. Mike Evans will eventually come back, but it seems like he’s established himself as a top option in this passing game. Warren is the TE3, and it still doesn’t feel like the Colts have fully unlocked him. He has number one overall tight end upside, especially in a position that continues to be a headache.
There’s been a quarterback trade in the NFL, but I’m not sure it’s one that moves the needle much in dynasty fantasy football leagues. Joe Flacco has been traded to the Bengals. It appears that Zac Taylor will hand the reins over to the grizzled veteran in an attempt to keep their playoff hopes alive. Browning has struggled running this offense and protecting the football, but Flacco really hasn’t been any better this season. It’s possible that this is a good sign for Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown, but the offensive line is still a major problem. In superflex, if Flacco was dropped, he needs to be picked up, but I’m not excited.
Looking ahead to week six, it’s an easier bye week, with only the Texans and Vikings taking the week off. The Sunday Night matchup will be a great one to watch with the Lions visiting Kansas City. The Bucs will host the 49ers in a battle of surprising 4-1 teams. On Monday Night Football, the Bills visit a feisty Falcons team, coming off a bye week and an embarrassing loss to the Panthers two weeks ago. We’re monitoring several injury situations around the league, especially Lamar Jackson. The Ravens have a week seven bye, so it would make sense to give him an extra week off, but the Ravens are getting desperate to get into the win column. They’re 1-4 and have a tough home matchup against the Rams.

While there are no more undefeated teams in the NFL, there is still one team that has failed to tick the win column: the New York Jets. After a close, exciting loss to the Steelers to kick off the season, Gang Green was blown out by the Bills and Cowboys, but they kept it pretty close against the Bucs and Dolphins. While the team is down in the dumps, their offense has supported a fantasy superstar in Garrett Wilson. Let’s take a look at his value in fantasy after a hot start to the 2025 season.

Garrett Wilson’s Dynasty ADP History.
Wilson’s ADP fell dramatically in September, going down to 27.25 overall, WR17 off the board. The DLF Expert Rankings have him much higher, 15 overall and WR11 off the board. The ADP has not been updated since early September, so it could just be slow to adjust. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up when the October ADP drops in the coming week or so.
Wilson is the WR5 in total fantasy points right now, averaging 19 PPR points per game. He’s only had one game where he failed to score at least 19 PPR points, week two against the Bills. He’s got four touchdowns through five games and is averaging over nine targets a game. He is by far the best skill position player on this team and should continue to be the focal point of the Jets offense. While the team has been bad, the offense is still scoring points and putting up good fantasy performances. Justin Fields clearly has chemistry with Wilson, and he should see his dynasty value continue to rise in the coming weeks.

FIVE BUY-LOW VETERANS TO HELP YOU WIN A DYNASTY CHAMPIONSHIP
Five weeks into the dynasty fantasy football season, you should have an idea of the direction your team is heading. There are some extenuating circumstances, perhaps injuries or underperformance, that could have you staring at an uphill battle to the playoffs, but if you’ve struggled to get going, you may want to start playing for an early rookie draft pick. At the same time, if you’re off to a hot start, and like the way your team is headed, the playoffs should be on your mind, and you should be building your team to win a championship in 2025.
We love young players in dynasty fantasy football, but sometimes they’re a wasted spot on a team that’s vying for a championship. RJ Harvey, Luther Burden, and Colston Loveland may have bright futures in the league, but they aren’t likely to contribute to a dynasty championship in 2025 (barring an injury on the depth chart ahead of them). You may want to consider cashing in your rookies or future draft picks, for veteran players who can be had for cheap in dynasty leagues.
Here are five names you should consider targeting, and some recent trades involving those players.
Dak Prescott, QB DAL (ADP 131; QB14)
It isn’t often that you can consider the QB3 in overall scoring to be a buy-low candidate, but in dynasty he is just that. He’s 32 years old, he doesn’t run the ball, and his best wide receiver is out and could be out for an extended period of time. Despite that, he’s been throwing the ball a ton and putting up massive fantasy digits.

Recent Dak Prescott trades in 1QB leagues, per the DLF Trade Finder tool.
Derrick Henry, RB BAL (ADP 47; RB17)
While Prescott is having a great run as of late, the King Derrick Henry has been anything but. After an outstanding week one, Henry has only gotten over 10 PPR points once (10.7 points in week three). In that time, he’s had 46 carries for 148 yards and two touchdowns, only 3.22 yards per carry. Sunday’s game was particularly ugly, with no Lamar Jackson in the backfield with him, Henry only ran for 33 yards on 15 carries.
