BEYOND THE PAYWALL

Is He Still An Elite Tight End?

The case for holding… and the case for cashing out now.

Mark Andrews’ 2024 season ended with a nightmare performance in the Ravens’ divisional loss to the Bills. Not only did he fumble the ball away in the 4th quarter, but he then dropped an open pass for a two-point conversion late in the game.

Andrews finished as the TE6 in fantasy scoring, but was buoyed by a career-high 11 touchdowns. He finished with 55 receptions on 69 targets and nearly 700 yards. While he obviously is still a strong red-zone target, he’s no longer the clear focal point he once was in Baltimore’s passing game. With Lamar Jackson spreading the ball to Zay Flowers, Isaiah Likely, and Justice Hill, dynasty managers have to ask:

Is Andrews still a cornerstone TE1, or is it time to cash out while the name value holds strong? This or That?

This — He still belongs in the elite tier.

  • 🔥 From 2019–2023, Andrews averaged 78 receptions, 963 yards, and 8 touchdowns per 17 games — rivaling Kelce during that span

  • 💪 Fully healthy entering 2025 after an unremarkable 2024 season from an injury perspective

  • 📊 Still Lamar’s most trusted red zone target, ranking top-5 among TEs in TD rate through 2024

  • 🧠 At age 29, he has multiple productive years left in a position with scarce top-end options

That — The elite window may be closing.

  • ⏳ Target share has dipped since Zay Flowers emerged as the WR1 in Baltimore

  • 🌱 Isaiah Likely’s expanded role could cap Andrews’ snap share and route volume

  • 📉 History shows TEs often decline quickly after 29–30, especially those reliant on contested catches

  • 💰 Can still net a late 1st or a productive veteran in many leagues — strong hedge against age curve

Verdict: This.

While Andrews’ dynasty profile isn’t as bulletproof as it was two years ago, the reality is simple: outside of a handful of names, no TE offers his combination of proven production, chemistry with an MVP quarterback, and sustained red zone dominance at this price.

If you’re contending, Andrews is exactly the kind of stabilizing force you want in your lineup. Just be prepared for a slight shift toward more 5–7 catch, 60–70 yard games rather than weekly blowups. For rebuilders, however, you may want to hold Andrews for a few weeks so he can recover a little value based on his production.

The key to this decision is Andrews’ current market price. If it’s truly as low as it appears via ADP, recent trades, etc., then he should be a trade target for any contending teams.
